One Way Deliverance Ministries – Baton Rouge, Louisiana

We must individually accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

God created you. If fact, he loves you so much and would like to have a relationship with you. Jesus said, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." Jesus came so that we could know God in a personal way and dwell with him in heaven.

The Bible says "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God."

We accept Jesus by faith. The Bible says, "God saved you by his special favor when you believed... Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it."

Accepting Jesus means believing that Jesus is the Son of God, then inviting him to guide and direct our lives. Jesus said, "I came that you might have life, and have it more abundantly... I'm standing at the door and I'm knocking. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in".

If you pray the following prayer, you are taking the first step to salvation, by committing yourself to God. He knows the intentions of your heart.

"Jesus, I want to know you. I want you to come into my life. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sin so that I could be fully accepted by you. Only you can give me the power to change and become the person you created me to be. Thank you for forgiving me and giving me eternal life with God. I give my life to you. Please do it as I wish. Amen."

If you sincerely asked Jesus into your life, then he has come into your life as he promised. You have begun a personal relationship with God.

What follows is a lifelong journey of change and growth as you get to know God better through reading your Bible, prayer and interaction with other Christians.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Is a solemn promise, commitment, or a guaranty. Something that you voluntarily (of your own free will), purposed in your heart to do. You must pay all vows that you make! The bible says, "Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay" (Ecc. 5:5; Ps. 66:13-14). The blessing is not in taking a vow or pledge but comes only after you have fulfilled your promise by paying what you have pledged. The blessing comes though your obedience. We believe in paying our vows in the church (Ps. 22:25). When you have obeyed God concerning what you have promised, then you have peace in knowing that He will do just what He has promised (Prov. 7:14). "There hath not failed one word of all His good promise" (I Kings 8:56).
Are charitable contributions given to relieve the poor. Give in secret, God will reward you openly (Matt. 6:1-4). When you give to the poor, you lend to the Lord and He will repay you (Prov. 19:17). Giving to the poor causes you to be deliveredin your time of trouble (Ps. 41:1). You shall not lack (Prov. 28:27). "He that hat a bountiful eye shallbe blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor" (Prov. 22:9).
It is natural to desire male/female companionship. You will not get to know somone if you do not spend time with them, but the kind of time you spend together is the topic of discussion for this section! Wholesome activities are permitted (dinner, movies, sports activities, picnics, etc.). Saints should not engage in PRE-MARITAL SEX. The bible says that we should abstain from fornication (Acts 15:20; 21:25). Let it not be named once among you (Eph. 5:3). Fornicators will not inherit the kingdom of God (I Cor. 6:9). Flee fornication; when you commit fornication you sin against your own body. Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost and He will not dwell in an unclean place (I Cor. 6:18-20). "That everyone of you should know how to possess his vessel (control your body) in sanctification and hour" (I Thess. 4:4). Control your body by walking in the Spirit (Gal. 5:16, 22-23). I Cor. 10:19 says that all temptations that affect us are common to man, but God provides a way of escape that we may be able to bear it. We must acknowledge God in all ways. This includes choosing a companion. The bible says that He will direct us (Prov. 3:5-6). When you delight yourself in the Lord (Ps. 37:4) and commit your ways unto Him (Ps. 37:5), He will give you the desires of your heart and bring it to pass. It is the responsibility of the man to find a wife (Prov. 18:22). Love her as Christ loved the church (Eph. 5:33). Honor her as the weaker vessel (I Peter 3:7). Ladies when considering marriage you must realize that your desires will be to please your husband (I Cor. 7:33). When you are single, you are only required to please the Lord in body and spirit (I Cor. 7:32, 34). But if you can not contain (Men and Women), it is better to marry (I Cor. 7:9). Marriage is honorable! (Heb. 13:4).
We believe that every born again believer must be baptized in water. "Jesus answered, verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water andof the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God" (John 3:5). "He that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved; but he that believeth not, shall be damned" (Luke 16:16). "Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised Him from the dead" (Col. 2:12). "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" (Mark 28:19).
We believe in the blessed hope, which is the rapture of the Church, at His return. "For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout..." (I Thess. 4:16-17). We shall be changed in the twinkling of an eye (I Cor. 15:51). We must remain in a state of readiness... "No man knows the day nor the hour when Christ will return" (Mt. 24:36-44). He is coming soon! (Rev. 22:12-14). We believe that there is a heaven and that there is a hell, and you will not miss both of them...
"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise" (Prov. 11:30). We believe that every born again believer has been chosen and ordained by God to witness for Him (John 15:16). The Holy Ghost gives us power and authority (Acts 1:8). "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy..." (Ps. 107:2). He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself..." (I John 5:10). We can speak boldly "That I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel" (Eph. 6:19). "Make known His deeds among the people..."
We believe in the sacraments of Water Baptism and Holy Communion. As we partake of the Lord's Supper we are remembering the body of Christ that was wounded for us (Is. 53:5), and the blood of Christ that was shed for our sins (Mt. 26:28). We must also examine ourselves so that we will not partake of communion unworthily (Mt. 26:26; Mark 14:22; Luke 22:19; I Cor. 10:16; 11:24-34).
Foot washing is a true sign of servitude. We should be servants one to another (John 13:5-17). The bible says, "But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself, shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted" (Mt. 23: 11-12). The bible also refers to footwashing as a good work (I Tim. 5:10).
Disputes between members of the body of Christ should be settled outside court (I Cor. 6:1-8), in a peaceful matter for God is not the author of confusion, but of peace (I Cor. 14:33). However, the bible also says that the law is for the lawless! (I Tim. 1:9). If you are really my brother, you will not STEAL from me (Ex. 20:15), nor COVET what belongs to me (Ex. 20:17), or LIE on me (slander) (Ex. 20:16), or KILL me (physically or with your mouth), nor cause my character to be marred (Ex. 20:13). Col 3:8 says to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. "Let NO corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers" (Eph. 4:29).
Is giving of yourself, time, ability, ideas, and of your substance. When you totally give of yourself to the ministry, giving your money will not be a problem; for you will realize that the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein (Ps. 24:1). Giving is God's way of prospering our lives (Luke 6:38). "For it is He that giveth us the power to get wealth (Deut. 8:18). When we plant we can expect to receive a harvest (Gal. 6:7). The measure of our giving also determines how much we will receive (II Cor. 9:6). God loves a cheerful giver (II Cor. 9:7). We believe in our TITHES (Mal. 3:8; Prov. 3:9). The first (1st) 10% of all of our increase belongs to God. Tithes are a debt that we owe and a seed that we sow. We will be blessed when we obey this command or cursed if we choose not to obey (Is. 1:19-20). We pay tithes before we pay our personal bills, special offerings, revival pledges, or any other recreational activity that we may spend our money on.
Freewill Offering is something extra (gift or sacrifice), given above our tithe. Freely you have received so freely (Matt. 10:8). God expects us to give what wehave willingly (II Cor. 8:12; Ez. 1:5-6; 2:68-69; Matt. 5:21-24; Jude 5:2; Deut. 12:6; 23:23).
We believe in the indwelling power of the Holy Ghost, enduing and empowering believers to speak with tongues and imparting divers gifts to the members of the body of Christ. "He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?" (Acts 19:2). You must receive God's Spirit in your life, which is the Holy Ghost. The bible says, "Holiness without which no man shall see the Lord. " You must sanctify yourself and the very God of peace sanctify you wholly (I Thess. 5:23). Acts 1:8 says, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you..." Sin must not reign in our body for the body has become the temple of the Holy Ghost (I Cor. 6:19). You must say yes to God and no to the flesh (Gal. 5:16). You must also possess the Fruit of the Spirit (the attributes of God): Love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, fatih, meekness, temperance (Gal. 5:22). We also believe that being filled with the Holy Ghost is more than shouting, dancing, and speaking in tongues. The Holy Ghost gives us POWER (Acts 1:8); is the COMFORTER (John 15:26); is the SPIRIT OF TRUTH and our GUIDE (John 16:13;14:7); TEACHER (Luke 12:12); GIVES LIFE (John 15:26; II Cor. 3:6); ABIDES FOREVER (John 14:16); BRINGS ALL THINGS TO OUR REMEMBRANCE (John 14:26); TESTIFIES OF CHRIST (John 15:26); CONVICTS THE WORLD OF SIN (John 16:7-8).
